Why do I have to be a paid member to participate in FVCG activities?
The terms of our insurance policy requires you to be a formal member of FVCG in order to be covered while participating in our activities.
The modest fee that is charged for membership helps to cover the cost of our insurance policy and also rent we pay for use of Council land. The cost of insurance premium is approximately $500 p.a. and similarly rent to Council is approximately $500 p.a. Funds that we raise from donations and grants are used to build new gardens, they aren't used to pay rent & insurance.
In the future we will also need to pay for restocking of plants, mulches and tools.
